Lauren McCourt, founder of Wild Hart Rituals, did not set out to create a product. She set out to survive. The birth of her son brought unexpected physical trauma and an emotional reckoning she could no longer postpone. Like many women, she found herself trying to maintain an image of composure while quietly unravelling, a darkness she could no longer ignore.
She chose therapy, a decision that became the foundation for everything that followed. When her therapist suggested journaling, Lauren went looking for one but felt disconnected. “Everything felt repetitive, prescriptive — or subtly shaming if you couldn’t keep up,” she recalls. The tools available did not offer the gentle support she needed.
Her healing expanded beyond talk therapy into embodied practices like yoga. For years, Lauren had lived with chronic pain, but it was only through these sessions that something shifted. “That was the biggest surprise for me,” she says. “Realising my body wasn’t broken — it was communicating.”
*The Wild Hart Year*, her guided journal, emerged from this gap. It weaves therapy-informed prompts with seasonal rhythms and nervous-system practices, designed as a companion rather than a rigid plan. Crucially, it is undated. “I hated feeling behind,” Lauren admits. “This journal meets you where you are.” It offers not a fix, but permission to heal at the pace of the body.
